Design consultancy
If planning on having a research or final year project item fabricated by the Engineering Workshop, it is always a good idea to first discuss your plans with the Workshop staff as their many years of experience in manufacturing research/project items could influence your design. Material types and manufacturing method options can be determined during this phase to ensure that your item is manufactured to the highest quality standards and will suit the applications for which you will be using it.
To arrange an appointment to discuss your design and/or its potential manufacture, email the Workshop Manager, Gary Mather, or visit the Workshop to talk to Gary Mather.
Manufacturing
At the Engineering Workshop, we provide a wide variety of manufacturing services from building reactor columns for research to manufacturing a support bracket. No matter what you require, we are happy to discuss your requirements from design through to manufacture. We can also supply the tools and help guide you through the manufacturing process.
Requesting equipment/component manufacturing
To request an item to be manufactured, complete an Engineering Workshop and Lab Technical Services Request Form (Lab/Fab Request Form) and forward it by email to Gary Mather. Include any sketches or other design details that will assist in the manufacturing of your item. Gary Mather will then contact you by email to arrange an appointment to discuss your needs.
