Chemical Engineering experiment risk assessment

Chemical Engineering experiments can have unique hazards and a combination or risk management processes needed to control these hazards.

A Chemical Engineering experiment may combine chemical, plant/equipment, manual handling and task based hazards. To avoid having to complete a separate risk assessment for each of these hazard categories, a one-stop risk assessment document has been made available.

Filing and retention of the risk assessment document

Completed Chemical Engineering experiment risk assessment forms are to be filed in Chapter 4.3 of the applicable department/unit/lab OHS Documentation Folder.

The completed risk assessment form needs to be retained in the applicable department/unit/lab OHS Documentation Folder for five (5) years, after which it can be disposed of via a confidential waste bin.
