Generic chemical risk assessment documents
Generic Dangerous Goods (by class) risk assessment — as per 43-003 When is a chemical risk assessment required? if Chem FFX lists the chemical as:
- A dangerous good
- A low or medium hazard alert rating
then a generic Dangerous Goods chemical risk assessment can be used.
Low/medium hazard rating, non-dangerous good, non-poisons schedule risk assessment — as per 43-003 When is a chemical risk assessment required? the above generic chemical risk assessment may be used if Chem FFX lists the chemical as all of the following:
- A low or medium hazard rating
- Not a dangerous good
- Not a scheduled poison
Generic office product chemical risk assessments: used for a range of office or domestic type cleaning products often found in offices/kitchens.
Using generic chemical risk assessment documents
- Open the applicable generic chemical risk assessment document from the links above.
- Add your laboratories details to Step 1 of the form.
- Check the Hazard & Risk Treatments listed in Step 2 to ensure they are applicable to your area. Add or delete Risk Treatments where appropriate.
- Check the Controls listed under Review Chemical Process to ensure they are applicable to your area. Add or delete Controls where appropriate.
- Save the completed document with you area's particulars included.
- File a copy of the completed risk assessment document in Chapter 4.3 of your local OHS Documentation Folder.
