University consortium awarded $3m funding for next gen autonomous vehicles
Congratulations to Chief Investigator Professor Girish Nair, Professors Tony Burkitt and Bill Moran along with Dr Iman Shames on the announcement of $3m funding over three years to lead an Australian research consortium alongside US institutions Boston University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology to develop the next generation of autonomous vehicles inspired by nature.

Announced by Minister for Defence Industry the Hon Melissa Price MP on Wednesday 18 September, this funding will help to improve efficiency and safety of defence personnel.
The autonomous capabilities of these next generation vehicles will be bio-inspired to mimic human or animal movement.
