The race is on for the gender-equal boardroom, gender-equal media coverage, gender-equal workplaces, and more gender equality in health and wealth. How will we make this happen?

Join a high-profile panel of leading academics and professional staff from across the University for a lively discussion on the challenges and opportunities in achieving parity and seniority for women, whether we’re moving fast enough, and the role of allies in shaping a gender-equal world.

Genevieve Curtain is a senior human resources practitioner who brings an open and collaborative style with strong consulting and coaching skills to team leadership and client relationships. One of her key strengths is building an engaged culture to optimise performance and business outcomes in environments where complex stakeholder issues are prevalent.

Lyn McColl

Executive Director, Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences

Lyn McColl is a certified practicing accountant who joined the University after 14 years in leadership positions with BHP Billiton’s Global Legal Team. Her proven ability to formulate and deliver organisational projects with high quality outcomes is supported by wide leadership, commercial and general management experience. A board-member of Craft Victoria, Lyn is passionate about art, design, and supporting makers in diverse environments.

Dr Lauren Rosewarne

Senior Lecturer in Public Policy, Faculty of Arts

Lauren Rosewarne teaches, researches and writes in the areas of political science and gender studies. She is a well-known commentator on a wide variety of provocative social issues, including gender, sexuality, politics, public policy, social media, pop culture and technology. She has authored ten books, as well as journal articles, book chapters, and hundreds of opinion pieces and columns.

Dr Victor Sojo

Lecturer in Leadership, Research Fellow in the Centre for Workplace Leadership, Faculty of Business and Economics

Victor Sojo works on interdisciplinary leadership, diversity managementand equity research projects with industry partners, and is currently investigating leadership development in the public sector, dominant narratives about workplace gender diversity, macro-drivers of individual level well-being differences between men and women, and the dimensions, prevalence, predictors and consequences of abuse in the workplace and professional sport.

Professor Leann Tilley

Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Australian Research Council Georgina Sweet Australian Laureate Fellow

Leann Tilley is a scientist who embraces a large range of technologies to further her understanding of biological questions, from drug and protein chemistry, to molecular cell biology, to novel imaging technologies. She is assisted in this by fantastic collaborations with experts from other disciplines, ranging from molecular parasitologists to organic chemists and optical physicists. Her research group is currently investigating cell biology, drug development and resistance related to the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum.
