Dungala Kaiela Oration 2021
Be inspired - register for this year's Dungala Kaiela Oration
This year’s Dungala Kaiela Oration (DKO) will be presented by Josephine Sukkar around the oration series theme ‘The Invincible Spirit: defining the future’.
This theme exemplifies the strength, pride and resilience of the Yorta Yorta people of the river country and highlights their determination to look to the future to build economic prosperity through sustainable education and economic development initiatives.
As was the case last year, COVID restrictions mean that this year’s DKO will be launched online – on Wednesday 29 September from 6.00pm.
This important event is co-hosted annually by the Shepparton-based Kaiela Institute and the University of Melbourne. The orations examine culture, climate change, economics and regional development, education, legal issues, health and society.
Appointed as the first female Chair of the Australian Sports Commission, Josephine Sukkar is co-founder and principal of construction company Buildcorp and president of Australian Women's Rugby. She is dedicated to building strong communities and amplifying women’s presence in sport.
Register to be part of this very special event on 29 September at 6pm
