How to keep and report a biological inventory
The University's Biosafety Management Program requires each research group to maintain a list of infectious agents (bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites, prions) and biological material that might reasonably be expected to contain infectious agents that are handled and/or stored by members of the group. This is to assist the University with ensuring that appropriate biosafety measures are in place and to provide advice on relevant legislative requirements.
Different reporting requirements apply for different Risk Groups (as defined in Section 3 of AS/NZS 2243.3. Safety in laboratories Part 3: Microbiological safety and containment).
