Use your animal ethics workbench

Use the animal ethics workbench to see the animal ethics applications you have created and participated in

The 'animal ethics home page - researcher worklist' screen in Themis lets you view all the animal ethics applications you have created, as well as those where you are listed as a participant. It also allows you to access your application records to view, modify, update or sign off an application as required.

To access the 'animal ethics home page':

  1. Log on to Themis using your UOM research self service responsibility.
  2. Select the 'animal ethics workbench' function listed under the 'ethics' section. The 'animal ethics home page' will display.

You will have a list of 'items requiring action'. These may be:

  • 'sign-off required', which will display any animal ethics applications that you are required to sign-off on as a project supervisor or a course or subject coordinator. You will receive an email alert advising you if you have any applications you need to sign-off on.
  • 'rejected by signatory', which will display any animal ethics applications on which you are named as the project supervisor that have been rejected by any named signatory after you have lodged it. You will need to edit and resubmit these applications. You will receive an email alert advising you if you have any applications you need to resubmit.
  • 'revisions required', which will display any applications where an AEC administrator has requested revisions before it can be approved. You will need to edit and resubmit these applications. Any other named investigator will be able to search for and view these applications using the 'current applications' section.
  • 'draft items not yet submitted', which will display any applications you have saved as a draft. Primary contacts, project supervisors and creators of the application will be able to access these applications, continue work on them, and submit them. Any other named investigator will be able to search for and view the applications using the 'current applications' section.
  • 'current applications', which displays all current applications on which you are named, including applications that are not yet lodged.
