Workspaces at Melbourne Connect
Workspaces at Melbourne Connect have been designed to encourage people to meet, share and interact. Located on each floor, workspaces are separated and secured from the social and collaborative settings found in the adjacent Active Hub by swipe card access. The design embraces comfort, quality and functionality. A range of work settings are available, giving staff options when it comes to focused, collaborative and team working.

Lockers, coat cupboards, team storage and refresh points

Located conveniently at the entrance of each workspace is custom-designed tall joinery that houses personal lockers, coat cupboards, team storage and umbrella stands with some also offering refresh points and waste bins. The joinery units maximise functionality by being accessible from both sides while visually and acoustically separating the corridor from the working environment.
Personal lockers are fitted with an adjustable shelf and secured by combination locks. They are positioned in the corridor facing away from open workspace ensuring minimal disruption. The refresh points will be equipped with Zip water taps and waste bins.
Whiteboards and pinboards face out toward the open workspace to enable collaboration activities such as brainstorming sessions and team notices.
Workstation #1

These workstations are arranged in pods of two, four or six throughout the workspace. Each workstation comprises of an electric sit-to-stand desk (1600 x 800), dual monitor set up on adjustable arms, ergonomic task chair and universal docking station. They are equipped with fixed tall drawer storage units and lockable under-desk pedestals that can be used for individual or team storage. Desk dividers with acoustic paneling and tall drawer storage units provide privacy between workstations.
Workstation #2

These workstations include all of the same features as workstation #1 (1600 x 800), with the exception of the taller drawer storage units. In its place they feature desk dividers with acoustic paneling which wrap around each desk, this provides a dedicated environment optimised for concentration work. They are also arranged in pods of two, four or six with lockable under-desk pedestals supplied under each desk.
Offices

Offices are collocated within the workspace area in between pods of workstations. Each office is fitted with generously sized electric sit-to-stand desks (2000 x 800), dual monitor set up on adjustable arms, ergonomic task chairs, wall-mounted whiteboard and pinboard panels, open bookshelf, cabinetry, under-desk pedestal and occasional furniture for consultations. 32-inch display screens are included in more than half of offices which can be used for presenting during meetings or consultations. Key design features include acoustic treatment to solid walls, solid lockable doors for added privacy, lockable storage, coat hooks and recessed ceiling lighting to create an ambient environment.
Open offices

Located at the perimeter of the workspace adjacent to the broader team space, open offices enjoy the added benefit of greater access to natural light and views. They are equipped with sit-to-stand desks (2000 x 800), additional privacy screens, ergonomic task chairs, dual monitor set up on adjustable arms and under-desk lockable pedestal. Open office areas are defined by tall privacy screens attached to the workstation and lockable storage joinery behind the workstation.
Task chair

Each work setting will feature an ID Mesh office chair by Vitra. Fitted over a slender frame, the innovative spacer fabric has the translucent airiness of a net, and is as soft as a cushion. The Diamond Mesh cover allows air to circulate and offers sustained comfort. These chairs meet all ergonomic requirements with features such as seat height and depth adjustment, back rest support and a forward tilt adjustment.
